Chapter 47: From Gail’s to OnDemand: The big big big step

I have had to wait a lot, but finally I’m going to start my new job next week. I’m going to work in OnDemand, a company of media that works for several TVs from different countries. They called me one month ago to offer me the job, but until yesterday the contract wasn’t ready. Long time waiting… I was nervous, excited, worried… But finally, next week I’ll start to work for this important company and I’ll say goodbye to Gail’s. And the most important thing, I’ll say “bye bye” to washing up. It’s a very very big step…

Sigue leyendo

Chapter 46: Notting Hill Carnival

Yesterday I was watching the Notting Hill Carnival. It is a big parade with different group of people dancing, playing some instruments (drums) and dressed up. It was interesting but for me is not a proper carnival. It’s just a lot of percussion, dances (usually not really nice) and not very ingenious and original fancy dresses.

Sigue leyendo

Chapter 45: Bye bye, Olympic Games

Last Sunday finished the Olympic Games. I’ve seen several things, but I’d have liked to see a little bit more. Anyway, I was inside the Olympic Park to watch the handball and I was seeing the marathon as well. Also, I saw the Olympic flame passing by my neighborhood.

Chapter 44: The strike

I’m on strike in my job. They don’t pay me. I’m waiting for the payment since July 31. There is a big delay. Almost two weeks. They have told me that my pay is coming to my bank account tomorrow (on Tuesday). But I don’t have any money and I’m not going to work until they pay me. Also, I’m waiting for more news of my future job and they don’t give me more information. Furthermore, I have gotten an internship and I have to refuse or to confirm in a couple of days. Everything at the same moment!!! Because of it, I feel upset, worried and nervous…

Chapter 43: See you, my friends!!!

London is a particular city. People come and go. You know people and they go, then you meet new friends. Always is in this way. Yesterday, Didier, probably my best friend here, came back to France. I feel a little sad, but I have to get used to it because that is what happen in a big city like London.

Anteriormente Carlos… Sigue leyendo

Chapter 42: Inside the Olympic Park!!!

This morning I went to the Olympic Park to see a match of handball: Norway Vs Korea. A friend of mine had tickets and she wanted to share them with me. Thanks, Helen! It was amazing!!! We saw this game and a little of the next one: Montenegro Vs Angola. And also we were having a look to the sport facilities: the Basketball Arena, the Olympic Stadium, the Velodrome, etc. I feel like in a bubble. And I feel like in a bubble as well because something very good is coming for my professional life. I don’t want to say anything at the moment because it isn’t absolutely sure, but I’ll tell you more about that in next chapters…

Sigue leyendo
